This is Peugeot's iron coffee mill, the Diabolo. It's compact and sturdy, which is cool. It has a great presence on the shelf. It's something you'll want to keep close at hand. The peeling paint tells the story of its history, and at SPB we have deliberately left the exterior paint as it is.
At home, of course, but also when camping or hiking, the Diabolo is so much fun that you may end up grinding too many beans.
Peugeot is now famous as a car manufacturer. In fact, before the history of cars, there was a coffee mill. SPB physical stores have a hard-to-find, not-for-sale book that describes the history of Peugeot coffee mills. Please come and see the history of various designs.
This Peugeot has passed through many hands throughout its long history and has been well-loved. I imagine that someone with love for this coffee mill must have repaired it and used it again when it broke. I look forward to seeing it being passed down for the next 100 years and beyond.
